Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

There are a number of websites & applications that claim they can monitor the AppStore, and others that just offer deals (like FAAD).

What would you recommend to use for AppStore monitoring / watching, to get the best deals? Which keeps itself updated the most and shows relevant applications?

This isn't quite the same as something like FAAD, but I find macheist.com to be a really cool concept. They make puzzle games which you play in order to earn wicked new apps, and then every couple of months or so they put out a software bundle on sale for like a week that has heaps of really popular apps for next to nothing. I bought the latest software bundle for $29, and it had like $800 worth of software or something (after they added all their "bonus" software items to the pack throughout the sale week). Heres a write up on Cult of Mac about it.

Coincidentally, Cult of Mac would be the other site I'd recommend for the latest news on apps and everything apple.
