Java 6 …

For some apps or services, Java Sound does not work. Tests include:

For at least one app, a bug involving file name normalisation may cause loss of data.

I have not installed Java 8, but I am in the process of telling my team that we may want to adopt the new java.time packages. My understanding is that can be done independently of adopting everything.
