I'm trying to work out how to best manage having two separate contacts lists, mine and my husbands, to back-up in iCloud and sync to our individual phones through iTunes?

Could you assist with this?

iCloud syncs happen over your data connection on your iPhone. You don’t need iTunes for that. Seems like you are using the same account for the 2 phones. – duci9y Oct 24 '12 at 10:04
