Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have the first generation iPad, second generation iPod Touch and iPhone 4. I am sycning them to the same iTunes library. Since the iPod Touch (2nd Gen) supports only iOS 4.2.1 and iPad(1st Gen) supports only iOS 5.1.1 , I want an automated way of knowing the current apps if they supports the respective iOS versions or not. This will help me to backup to the iOS apps which are supporting ( iOS version 4.2.1 / 5.1.1) and not have them lost when a new update comes out.

This automation could be a mix of Applescript and other scripting languages. This is just to know if something of this kind already existings. I have already googled with no success.
