I had to replace the battery on my Mac Pro RAID card. (Not terribly surprising: I expect the battery to last only about 3 years and it did.)

However, now that I've replaced the battery, I would like to do 2 things.

  1. Update the "First Installed" date for the RAID battery that shows up in the System Profiler.
  2. Reset the 3-month "conditioning" cycle so that it doesn't discharge/recharge the battery in a few weeks (when the old battery was due to be conditioned).

How can I do this? I'm comfortable using the command line, but I can't find any options to raidutil for this or any information of any other kind on how to update this. I have seen reports from other people that have reasonable "First Installed" dates (mine is 12/31/00) so it must be able to be done, but maybe it's only done at the factory. (My card was a DIY warranty replacement after my first card suffered premature battery failure.)
