I have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS running iOS 5.0.1 with baseband/bootrom 05.16.02.

I sync some iPhoto albums to my iPhone using regular iTunes sync (wired and wireless). However, this past week I was on vacation, and while I was gone all of my albums disappeared from my phone! I ONLY have my "Camera Roll" on the "Albums" tab, plus the "Places" tab! That's it!! No more synced albums, and no "Faces" tab!

I have since tried re-syncing with iTunes with no luck. I synced again with the "Sync Photos" unchecked which should theoretically delete all the synced photos from the device. I then re-checked and synced again. Still nothing! Only 2 tabs: "Albums" (showing only "Camera Roll") and "Places". What can I do to make my phone display my synced photos again? Will my planned upgrade to a jailbreakable iOS 5.1.1 help?

--- UPDATE -- PROBLEM SOLVED ---

I was able by adding an extra (not previously-synced) iPhoto album to the iTunes sync, it re-synced/re-showed ALL the albums/faces that had disappeared showed up again. I was then able to remove the additional album I checked, re-synced so it was erased, and the rest properly saved! I'm only leaving this question posted so that anyone else with the same problem can find it.

Welcome to the site. We like when people answer their own questions, but we do ask that the question be in the question and the answer in the answer. Could you edit this and make it an answer so it matches the Q&A format we have provided? – bmike Sep 29 '12 at 15:07
