I would like to find a way for iOS VPN clients to make use of GlimmerBlocker installed on the VPN server. Internet access via VPN works fine otherwise.

The setup:

  • OS X 10.6 Server with VPN service running and GlimmerBlocker installed. HTTP proxy is configured to use the address 127.0.0.1:8228 (default)
  • iPhone with VPN configured, iOS 5.1.1

Has anyone had any experience with this kind of setup? I searched a lot, but unsuccessfully. Any tips are appreciated.

For those unfamiliar, GlimmerBlocker is a system-wide http proxy that has a set of rules for filtering the ads.
