For a while now Spotlight has been unable to index Mail.app messages on my 10.6 system. In system.log I always see sections like:

This indicates a problem in CoreSymbolication.framework. I've restored this framework and Mail.mdimporter from backup, but neither one actually shows any changes in the months my backup covers. Needless to say this didn't fix my issue either.

I had suspected it might have something to do with Xcode -- when I first noticed this, I had recently installed Xcode 4.2 while keeping 3 installed. Since then, however, I've removed both Xcodes and just reinstalled Xcode 3; the problem persists.

Anyone have an idea how to fix this? I've already tried removing adding ~/Library/Mail to Spotlight's ignore list and then taking it out.
