Safari 5.1.7 will not open on OS X 10.7.4. It starts but does not complete opening. Then it stops but does not hang.

I suggest that you check the logs in Console (/Applications/Utilities/Console) to see if there is anything reported during or immediately after you launch Safari. You may find there are log entries which may give you a clue as to why it is not opening. |

There may be something corrupted in your preferences. Try opening it in a newly-created account. If that works, then it's your account. If that doesn't work, it's Safari or some other system problem. |
