Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have searched far and wide for an answer to this problem, yet none of the solutions I have seen posted have worked. I connect to the internet using a USB Modem on my MacBook Air mid-2011 model. I wish to share this internet connection to my iPhone using Internet Sharing. I open up sharing in System Preferences and check the internet sharing box, with the drop down titled 'Share your connection from:' set to 'Huawei Modem'.

The first time I set this up my iPhone connected perfectly and there were no problems, however upon rejoining the wifi network, my iPhone connected, yet when I attempted to browse Safari, use Siri etc. there was no internet connection available.

Any help as to how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, however I've seen this problem did also occur on Lion, so it is probably not specific to Mountain Lion.

Thank you in advance for any help!
