As I explained in a different post, there are several videos in my iPod that I am unable to delete through iTunes.

I was able to identify these files (with find and grep, etc.).

As a test, I deleted one of these files with rm.

iTunes appears to have detected the freed up space, but it still shows the deleted file. If I attempt to play this file, not only it doesn't play (of course) but iTunes does not correct its database to indicate that the file is missing.

How can I force iTunes to purge missing files from my iPod's database?
