Now that Virgin Mobile/Cricket Wireless will carry the iPhone, can I purchase a used iPhone 4 or 4S and use it with a monthly contract?

This is slightly different than this question because I would use a non-jailbroken iPhone and Virgin Mobile/Cricket Wireless have agreed to officially carry the phone.
