Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Does anyone know if in the iPhone (any version) there are any camera/CCD hardware filters (eg. polarizing filter, IR filter, bandpass filter) that can be controlled via software?

If so, how can I do and/or where can I find docs about it?

Please have a read of the "what questions" portion of the FAQ and let us know if this should be closed as off topic. If you are looking for external camera filters or just basic hardware information - we're fine with that. If you want to program the iPhone, you would be better served seeing about asking it on our sister site for programmers. – bmike May 8 '12 at 20:50
@bmike you are right, it's a bit off-topic. I posted the same question on stackoverflow. – Paolo Stefan May 9 '12 at 5:37

Take a look at Core Quartz. But I guess you will get more response if you post the question in stackoverflow.

Indeed - programming questions should be asked on Stack Overflow. I've edited that out of the question in case the OP wants to know user level answers on what hardware exists since that would likely be off topic on SO, but fair game here. – bmike May 8 '12 at 20:47
