Is it possible to use SVG files to display buttons and other UI Elements on native iOS applications? I'm thinking of a good way to update and future proof my icons and UI to fit the Retina display.

Hi Oliver, programming questions (less AppleScript/Automator) are off-topic on Ask Different. Since Mathias managed to get in in time, his answer can remain the standing canonical answer to the extent that it does, but I am still going to close this question due to it's off-topic nature. –  Jason Salaz Apr 4 '12 at 7:10

I don’t know about buttons and UI elements, but I do know that iOS 5.1 (still) doesn’t support SVG for web app touch icons.

My guess would be that this applies system-wide, but again, I’m not entirely sure.
