I am unable to boot from a DVD on a MacBook Pro. I need to reinstall Lion.

I tried holding C and also I tried using the alt key. Using the alt key is only showing the internal hard drive as a boot option. It does not show a disk option.

Are you able to see the DVD when you're booted into your normal OS? – Matt Love Feb 16 '12 at 21:58

How long are you holding C for? It can take a few minutes, sometimes. Do you hear the disk spinning? – michaelmichael Feb 16 '12 at 23:55
