How can I delete photos from photos on my iPad. They were copied when I did a sync with the computer. I'm talking about 1650 photos and I don't want all of them.

Are you talking about photos in the Photostream or just regulars on your iPad? –  Michiel Jan 23 '12 at 8:44
Photos synced to an iDevice from a computer do not enter the Photostream, only photos taken on the device and saved to the camera roll will automatically push to the cloud. @Michiel –  jbharper2 Jan 23 '12 at 11:36

Sync again with the computer, this time when it is plugged in, click on the iPad, and navigate to syncing options, and Photos, uncheck, Sync Photos. Then sync

thanks for your reply...I am new...how do i navigate to sync options where I can uncheck? –  Shauket Jan 24 '12 at 1:57
the downloaded pictures got deleted..all of them. I unchecked the folder on the pc before I did the sync. How can I transfer selected photos from my pc to my iPad? Do i create a folder with those pictures on the pc , select it, then sync? –  Shauket Jan 24 '12 at 2:07
@Shauket That will work. –  timothymh Jan 24 '12 at 4:42

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by iPad data eraser app,where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing. safewiper program is really powerful which can completely erase all data on iPhone, iPad.
