I turned on screen sharing on Lion on my 17" mbp. When people connect using xtightvnc on linux, or chicken-of-the-vnc on Snow Leopard, they get a connection, and see the login screen background, and none of my windows. This 'extra desktop' does not show up in F3 or display preferences. Is there anything I can do to actually allow linux or snowleopard users to see my screen?

It seems that when you do this, you are supposed to get a button to connect to the current session (screen); which is what you want, or the ability to start a new session and log in possibly as someone else (which is what I want). I don't know why these buttons do not show up for me. – Alan Nov 28 '11 at 22:11
