In my Macbook pro I'm using a Wifi Connection & I would like to share that connection to other computers. I have a Linksys E2000 router & I would like to share the WiFi connection through my router as a repeater(bridge)! Would it be possible to do it Mas OS X Lion?

When I tried to install the Linksys driver software in my system, it wasn't compatible with Lion OS!!

Is there any way to share the WiFi connection to other computers through Linksys E2000 router?

Basically I'm using one common internet connection but the signal strength is very low in my apartment. I'm getting better sign strength in one room so I would like to boost the signal strength for use in other rooms.

As Wheat has mentioned, configuring your non-Apple router to extend a generic network connection is off-topic for this site. Please take a look at the FAQs for more info. Thanks. – Nathan Greenstein Sep 24 '11 at 18:37

I am not certain I understand your intention. Your MacBook Pro can receive WiFi, and you can use it to create an ad-hoc sharing of the WiFi connection with other computers. But this is problematic and inefficient.

You also have a Linksys E2000 WiFi router, which can be used in a much more efficient and much less problematic manner to share an Internet connection between multiple computers.

So why not configure the Linksys E2000 to connect directly to your Internet connection and share that with each of your computers?

You should also consult the owners manuals for the Linksys E2000. I have provided a link to those documents (in English) in the post that I link to above.

From the way that I interpret your questions, I think you need a better understanding of what you can do with your Linksys router, and how to configure it, such as how to put it into bridge mode or repeater mode. Answers to those questions are beyond the scope of the help we can provide at Ask Different.

OK, if you can configure the Linksys E2000 to connect directly to the WiFi connection, then you can connect your MacBook Pro and the other computers in your home to the Linksys via ethernet cables, not over WiFi. You will have a much more reliable connection that way. The Linksys has 4 Ethernet ports for connecting 4 computers. – Wheat Williams Sep 24 '11 at 16:03
How can I configure my router with the WiFi connection? – linguini Sep 24 '11 at 16:28

Again, configuring your Linksys router is beyond the scope of questions we can answer at Ask Different. To answer that question you should find a support forum for Linksys routers, and read the Linksys owners manuals. – Wheat Williams Sep 24 '11 at 17:41
