A real strange one this.
I have just setup a Mac that is bound to AD and joined to the wireless (authenticated at logon screen) I know this because I am able to ping the Mac when it is sitting at logon screen.
The issue is that the message comes up at the username and password screen Network accounts not available.

The Mac is connected to the wireless with computer object authentication PEAP

Testing so far I have been able to:

  • ssh onto the Mac (while on wireless)
  • confirm IP address is assigned to Mac
  • ping devices on the same network segment (i.e. 192.168.1.10/24)
  • ping the gateway

But I have been unable to:

  • ping <ip of DCs>
  • ping <FQDN of DCs>
  • run dig <AD DNS name> commands on the AD DNS name
  • ping devices outside of the network segment (i.e. 192.168.2.10/24)
  • Logon with a network user account

If I log in as a local Admin I am on the network instantly and interestingly if I log out (still on Wireless) I can then log in with a network user account.
But if I reboot the Mac, I again cannot login with a network user (I am still connected to Wireless though).

OSX is 10.11.3

Has anyone seen this before as it is really stumping me.

I am experiencing the exact same problem as you. Did you ever find a solution? Peter – Peter May 18 at 8:51
