Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am running Iphone Configuration Utility and I am in the console tab, but the information is confusing to me. Here is what I mean, I get an error like

Springboard[29] : Icon state had duplicate icons or other corruption. Resetting icon state.

I know what this means, the iconstate.plist file has been reset and all folders are removed, however this isn't the only error I get.

apsd[27] : : Stream error occurred for : Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain

Is there a resource/list that I can look at that explains these [number] codes or the processes that invoke them? Here is an example of all possible error numbers for VB, but I want one for whatever programming language the above code is. http://www.planetsourcecode.com/vb/scripts/ShowCode.asp?txtCodeId=48434&lngWId=1

I found this site http://cocoaheads.byu.edu/resources, but I don't know if Springboard is a cocoa touch process.

I think those are PIDs (Process IDentification numbers), not error codes. They won't be helpful for finding the cause of a problem. –  ughoavgfhw Jul 10 '11 at 4:18

Springboard is the user interface that controls the icon position, apse is the apple push service daemon and it looks like you don't have an actual error code (but it's from the NSposixdomain header) - if you want to learn this, the best $100 you can spend is to join the iOS developer program and have access to the tools and header files as well as developer discussions on apple's site. –  bmike Jul 10 '11 at 4:45

What will be helpful in solving the problem, such as the iconstate.plist being reset. –  Jon Jul 10 '11 at 21:04
