I would like to know which instance is being used, which version is responding the the mysql commannd.

I am on OSX 10.9.1

I have homebrew MySQL 5.6.16 installed at : /usr/local/Cellar/

But I also (previous to the homebrew install) had installed the .pkg and pref pane from the oracle MySQL website (for that install I would have followed all the default settings) - I think that would also be version 5.6.16. So, I think I have two version of MySQL on my machine. When I run: which mysql in terminal I get: /usr/local/bin/mysql

When I run: mysql --version I get mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.6.16, for osx10.9 (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper

So, which instance is being referenced? the instance installed via homebrew, or the instance installed via the .pkg?

I want the homebrew instance to be the active one.
